This project is completely female and female-identifying made. Not only the music video, but the whole album, from top to bottom, was made by an entirely female team. Every song was written and produced by Lindsay, and every role, from studio musicians to recording engineers to mixing to mastering, as well as myself as a music video director and all video crew and talent, was filled by a woman or female-identifying person.
The song 'Too’ is a meditation on femininity. The song explores themes of dissatisfaction and restlessness, the experience of compressing oneself to make space for one’s male counterpart, allowing anger and ugliness when women are required to be mild mannered and pretty, and reclaiming the beauty and power of being a woman.
